The very first thing you need to do is RESEARCH. You have to comprehend as much as you can about your travel destination before arrival. 

Yes, this is going to need some time and effort on your part but it’s really worth it. This is the best way to know what it is you want from your vacation and what you want to do when you arrive there.

The best holidays are the ones we are most ready for. You must do yourself a favor; make it a habit to always be informed of your desired destination before you travel abroad. You will realize that it really makes a big difference in the world.

What are some other important that you need to do to prepare yourself? You can use the following tips before you travel.

1. You must make 2 photocopies of your passport. Take one and keep the other on a safe place or leave it with a friend. Bring the other one with you and keep it in a separate place from your passport, this way should your passport become stolen or lost, you can use the copy to exit the country and it will also help the replacement process.

2. Email yourself the important information including the flight information, credit card numbers, airline numbers, passport and driver's license numbers and anything else that may be of value to you. This way if anything is misplaced or stolen, you are just an internet connection away.


3. You must know your banking information. For your credit card, be sure that the valid dates will remain valid while you are vacationing, know your existing spending amount and don’t forget to allocate some room for emergencies. Regularly check your ATM and debit cards and total limits.

4. Know some local language. If you are traveling to a country with a foreign language, it’s always nice to be known of some native languages. 

Knowing the "polite words" and just a few local expressions is a huge help. You will find that locals really love this and will tend to be more open to your questions. 

Maybe you will even make a new friend while you are on a foreign country.

5. Be conscious of the voltage that's used for the country you are visiting. If you are taking anything that needs an outlet such as computer, smartphone, camera, etc. be sure to buy plug adapters.

When visiting to a foreign country it's always best to be organized as you can be.
