Despite the adjustable waistbands, swim trunks are not one-size fits all. Finding the right looks takes as much care as finding any other garment.- maybe even more because you are otherwise naked. Below, Chris Cox, vice president of design and creative at Nautica gives us the skinny on the best swimsuit for our body types.
Short
Here is a trick for men under 5'8". Keep your swimsuit above your knee length to make your legs look longer. Remember the longer the shorts, the shorter you will look.
Tall
If you have the altitude to dunk a basketball, reverse the short guy's strategy.Even out your proportions with longer shorts that hit at the top or the bottom of your knees. I particularly recommend horizontal stripes.
Slim
No need to feel self-conscious if you are a skinny guy. Fill out your profile with more volume in the suit. Bold patterns and color blocking (pairing prominent solids) add substance to your size.
Heavy
Big guys we have covered you too. For a flattering look, try a classic fit, neither baggy, nor skin-tight. Also darker colors and denser print patterns, and vertical stripes will help you appear leaner.
Guys always remember that depending on the Zip code and countries styles may change, so if you travel to
Malibu - California , you may try this one:
If you go to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard, remember that guys over there are more preppy and Ivy League style so try this one:
Every time I go to the Hamptons, I love the styles over there, so if you travel over there this summer why not try this model. I personally believe it is one of my favorites:
Now it is time to go to the northern parts of Florida, guys over there come from southern and also Mid-western States and the this style usually follows:
I just could not dismiss more provocative styles, such as Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Rio de Janeiro, so why not show more of our attributes such as this one:
So, wherever you go this summer, here in North America, Europe, or even the beaches in Brasil, try to lok the best and feel good about yourself. Because when we feel good about ourselves, that vice will reach others and so on. Have fun guys this summer!! Tchau! Tchau!!
