How Can You Make Sure Upper Management Knows Your Name

First of all, make sure they will know the good part of you, your skills, your knowledge, your abilities and all the benefits you will bring to the organization.
Second, be honest with yourself, with your team and be always positive. This applies to wherever you work, private or Government sector. Start your process, by recognizing the the corporate ladder, which is really more of an indoor climbing wall, what with the tenuous footholds and ever-present risk of a public fall. Then ask yourself, who is the person at the bottom holding your rope?? That would be your immediate supervisor. He or She would be the right holder, the one who would really help yo out. However, if He or She might feel threaten by your skills, abilities and potential growth, this could cause serious problems, even a major fall for yourself. So, do your best to show support and to ask for his or her support. Express your ideas and how you might be a partner and team player; because your immediate supervisor is the one who should be the partner to provide opportunities for you to interact with more senior people. But avoid creating the impression that you are trying to bypass your supervisor on your ascent, otherwise, your supervisor will feel like threaten and will become your worse enemy, and will do anything to make you fall. A good strategy is to ask your supervisor to work on some projects, which might create some exposure with upper management. A good example would be an interdepartmental team charged with a project that benefits the company or organization as a whole, like improving customer satisfaction or increasing productivity. No such task force? Create and propose your own then. Do your upper managers have Blogs or Twitter accounts? Then connect with them virtually and make good comments and positive remarks about their posts. But do not over do it. because it may become an annoyance. Your goal is to intrigue managers, so they may reach out to you....So GOOD LUCK and never become a pessimist or one of those office folks that only complain and gossip. Stay away from those kinds....
