BURN FAT & WISELY

PERFECT - Brief workouts with heavy weights may be best for blasting fat, an Italian study reports. One group of men did 32 minutes of interval-style lifting (heavy weights, periodic 20-second rests, longer rests between sets). Another did 62 minutes of lighter weights using a more traditional approach (3 sets of 12 to 14 reps, shorter rests between sets. Over the next 22 hours, the heavy lifters burned an extra 363 calories. Your muscles work harder with intervals, so they have to do mote post-workout rebuilding. Taht burns calories and lift levels of metabolism-boosting hormones, say the researchers.
