Great Example of Major Energy !!
It has been over 20 years since Laird Hamilton pioneered tow-in surfing-the art of using a watercraft or helicopter to reach bigger, faster-moving waves, and 12 years since he rode away from the epic wave that made him a living legend among surfers. Today, Hamilton, 48 years old, is still at it, toppling giant waves and perpetually pursuing new ones, because it is fun. These are his own words - FUN.
Laird always states that he is gravitated toward big waves, since they are really clear and well defined. Those are the perfect ones for manhood. Towing-in started because of a desire to try to figure out how to ride waves that were too big or stormy. In the 90s he and his buddies started the technique with Zodiac boats, then the Jet Ski came into play, which was a much better and versatile craft for such purpose. By doing it in this way, they could use the wind's power to catch the big waves. Laird says that he loves surfing, and that surfing is in him. It is something that has been in his state-of-mind since he was very little. There is in fact something in his DNA that draws him to surfing. Now, he says that the best experience he has had is seeing his daughters playing in the ocean. He thinks this is really awesome and great. So, if you like surfing or watching surfing, stay tuned for Laird, because even though he is already 48 years old, he is still prone to much more adventurous and successes.
